The All-New 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB Will Be Released Soon
Mercedes-Benz has continued to introduce new 2020 models for the upcoming year. With each new announcement comes more and more excitement. However, the announcement for the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 comes with more attention than normal, as the GLB 250 is an all-new model. The GLB will be one of the most versatile SUV’s in the lineup, as it can be configured in luxury trim levels or off-road oriented trims. The GLB can fit customers ranging from families looking for a spacious SUV, to independent, adventurous customers needing an overlanding vehicle. The new GLB 250 is set to release in the U.S. and go on sale here at Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn by the end of the year! So how much do we already know about the next Mercedes-Benz SUV?
The Most Versatile SUV from Mercedes-Benz
With the introduction of the new 2020 GLB, Mercedes-Benz now has eight compact vehicles in their global lineup. The GLB will be classified as a compact SUV, however, its capabilities and size are absolutely not compact. To compare the GLB to other models in the lineup, the GLB’s wheelbase is 5-inches longer than the GLA and only a few inches shorter than the GLC. Compared to the rest of the lineup, the GLB is unique because it can be configured in 5 or 7 passenger arrangements, which is a first for the compact SUV lineup. When you look at the overall style and size of the GLB, its stature has a mix of off-road and luxury styling. The GLB has aggressive body lines, shorter front and rear bumper angles, and protective lower claddings all around the lower exterior.
Just like the exterior style options, the interior of the GLB can be set up to be luxurious or more rugged. Styling options on the interior include nubuck leather and milled aluminum trim to create a bold new look. All of the interior lines in the GLB are bolder and sharper than typical. The air vents in the center of the dash are trimmed in aluminum and the instrument panel stretches to the center of the dash in one large sweeping piece. The GLB will still come with Mercedes-Benz User Experience, which allows the driver to control the infotainment system. The GLB also comes with a full color heads up display, navigation, and much more that can all be controlled by voice commands.
Luxurious Features with Off-Road Capabilities
The 2020 GLB gives you a unique combination of comfort and capability with luxury interior features, improved technology and safety, and off-road performance. The GLB comes with a new 2.0L turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine capable of 221 horsepower that is paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This combination gives us plenty of power without sacrificing any fuel economy.
The new GLB 250 can be configured with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive that comes with a new Off-Road Engineering Package. The Off-Road Engineering package includes hill-start assist, downhill speed regulation, and even displays an animation of the driving situation on the infotainment display. If you get 4MATIC® all-wheel drive in the new GLB it will be enabled all the time, and the new GLB will come with Sport, Eco/Comfort, and Off-Road selectable driving modes.
