The Fully-Electric 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC is Coming Soon

In a world that is moving quickly towards a greener environment, electric cars are the vehicles of the near future. Combining efficiency with sustainability is an intelligent solution, and car manufacturers are revving to be part of it. Mercedes-Benz recently introduced its first all-electric vehicle as part of its upcoming EQ line. The all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC electric SUV is set to be released near the beginning of 2020 and we cannot wait for it to arrive in the showroom here at Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn!

Mercedes-Benz has joined the electric vehicle initiative to become a part of a more sustainable future. With the announcement of their first fully electric vehicle under the new EQ line, Mercedes-Benz has piqued the interest of car enthusiasts worldwide. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC combines the trademark aesthetics of the brand with a revolutionary electric-drive system. With several new and exciting features, the highly-anticipated 2020 EQC is one to look out for.

The EQC’s Electric Performance

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is not another partially electric, plug-in hybrid vehicle. It is a fully electric SUV with cutting edge technology and superior performance. The EQC’s 80kWh lithium-ion battery can store up to 93.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity. On average, the battery needs 10 hours to reach a full charge with regular AC chargers; but with a DC fast charger, it can go from 10% charge to 80% charge in just 40 minutes.

On each axle are compact electric motors, giving the EQC excellent handling and quick acceleration with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. The EQC has an equivalent of 402 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with these front and rear electric motors, the 2020 EQC is always rearing to go, and go fast. The EQC only needs 4.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. This 0 to 60 mph time is actually faster than the Porsche Macan S, Audi SQ5, and BMW X7. So the EQC will be fast charging and fast driving giving you the best of both worlds.

Improvements to Aesthetics & Connectivity

The 2020 EQC retains the familiar signature look of the Mercedes-Benz brand, but is entirely unique at the same time. At first glance the EQC may look similar to the GLC, but it has its own signature front fascia. The grille and headlights are incorporated on a glossy black-panel surface, accentuated with an LED light band. The EQC is also said to have unique wheel options and color options (European model shown above).

The EQC’s interior is luxurious with incredible detail applied to its textiles, high-gloss finishes, and digital screens. The ECQ’s infotainment center consists of two, 10-inch screens which span across the dash displaying the instrument cluster and the media controls. The ECQ is equipped with an innovative MBUX media system, which has a voice assistant that responds to the driver. This system utilizes AI making it intuitive, learning with time. It has also been engineered to manage car functions like energy flow, charge status, range display, and more.

The ECQ comes standard with updated smartphone integration and is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and many other apps. Living up to the safety standards of the Mercedes-Benz brand, the ECQ has a suite of safety features and driver assists including Standard Active Brake Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, DISTRONIC® Distance-Pacing Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and the PRESAFE® PLUS. An intelligent ECO Assist system is also installed to sustain maximum efficiency and provide all-inclusive support for electric driving.

With all these features and many more, Mercedes-Benz is poised to take the electric vehicle market by storm. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC is a technological marvel – a sleek blend of intelligent technology, superior performance, luxury comfort, and the electric efficiency that lights the way for other brands to follow.
